Location Round-up

I get frequently asked for recommendations on picking a location so I have compiled a list of some of my favorite locations across Northern Virginia to make it easier for you to envision and decide on a location that best meets your needs. You will find many dog-friendly locations listed below with a 🐾 (paw print) to indicate pet friendly locations. Please make note that depending on the time of year with different seasons and the lighting, the location will look different than what is depicted.

Lake Fairfax Park

Lake Fairfax Park is located in Reston, Virginia. This location is beautiful all year around. The lighting is quite dreamy and you have beautiful scenery with the trees, tall wispy grass, and a small bridge overlooking the lake. This park is also dog friendly so fur babies are welcomed. 🐾 Bathroom on-site for outfit change.

Morven Park

Morven Park makes the top of my list for favorite locations! It is located in Leesburg, Virginia and is definitely a hot spot amongst photographers. You can't visit the park without seeing at least 2-3 other photoshoots happenings. Can you see why? The grounds at Morven Park is absolutely stunning with a white mansion and boxwood gardens. This location is romantic and offers a wide variety of backgrounds. This park is also dog friendly so fur babies are welcomed. 🐾 Bathroom on-site for outfit change.

Oatlands Historic House and Gardens

Oatlands Historic House and Gardens is another one of my top favorite locations! It is located in Leesburg, Virginia and is another hot spot amongst photographers. This location is absolutely dreamy and has lots of charm. Oatlands offers such a wide variety of backgrounds and gives off secret garden vibes. Bathroom on-site for outfit change.

Manassas Battlefields

Think big, wide open fields with pretty golden, wheat colored grass and dreamy lighting! This place is also dog friendly so fur babies are welcomed! 🐾 Bathroom on-site for outfit change.

Burnside Farms (SEASONAL)

Burnside Farms is located in Nokesville, Virginia and they host their festival of spring (tulip festival) for only three weeks in April out of the entire year! They also host their summer of sunflowers from July 30th to Labor Day. The tulip fields are magical, boasting more than two million tulips and daffodils each year, looking more like a scene out of Holland rather than Northern Virginia. Burnside Farms only releases a limited amount of tickets each day during their festival. My collection session prices DO NOT include entry to this spring festival or summer of sunflowers. You will need to purchase tickets (Book the 5:00 PM slot for the tulips and 6:00 PM slot for the sunflowers) to the farm immediately before booking with me to ensure you have tickets to enter the farm. Here is the bonus: your admission ticket includes 5 PYO flower stems (tulips) per adult and 3 stems per child. For the summer of sunflowers, your admission tickets includes 3 sunflower stems per adult and 1 stem per child. The farm is so much fun and a promise of the bouncy trampoline after the photo session may entice the little ones for maximum cooperation. 😉
